Community Pantry

We are OPEN!

We are OPEN! We have recently opened a not-for-profit subsidised pantry and it’s proving a popular place to be! Our aim is to support people who need some help stretching their finances a little bit further each week.  By providing our members with some of the basic provisions needed we are able to help them free up some money to buy the things we are not able to supply. Think fruit, veg, meat, dairy, toiletries and shelf stable food items. We get a range of things in each week and with the shop costing just £3.50 a visit, it really is a bargain!

As well as helping people financially, the Cupboard on the Corner is also helping to eliminate food waste by taking food that is near its ‘best before’ date and would no longer be accepted into a supermarket.  This would normally be disposed of and sent away to landfill adding to the national waste dilemma.  By giving this food a second chance to be used before being thrown away we are helping to support our local environment.

The vision is:

  • To eliminate food poverty and holiday hunger
  • To reduce food waste
  • To offer practical and emotional support to all members of our community
  • To treat everyone with dignity and respect regardless of race, faith, gender, status, nationality, sexual orientation or age.

We are currently open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and appointments can be made by calling 07949117018 or emailing Everyone welcome!

We are so grateful to our local Waitrose store for supporting the work we do. We have been generously donated surplus food as well as financial donations to go towards keeping the Cupboard on the Corner well stocked and running!
